TWO MORE CEILING TILES

"The Fox and the Hound" and "Tobuscus" are the latest ceiling tiles added into the art room collection.  Only FOUR more left this school year!!!  And with time ticking away...I hope that they get them done... :)

2014 STUDENT ART SHOWCASE

I'd like to give huge THANKS!!! to everyone who came out to make our first annual Creekview Student Art Showcase a phenomenal success.  101 Creekview students had their art on display at the Houston House for the one-day art show, and there was a great turnout!  It was especially nice to see some students coming to the show who didn't have work in it, but to show some support for their friends!  It was a great event!!! 

 I'd also like to thank the Marysville Art League who lent out the Houston House to showcase my student work.  They are a great organization, and I hope to work with them continuously over the coming years!

The next 'art showcase' for my Creekview Intermediate students will be on Monday, May 12th.  That is the evening of the 5th and 6th grade choir and band concerts...and I will have artwork on display from each and every CIS student!!!  So...if you've got a few spare minutes that evening, pop in and enjoy the work from this past school year.  More info in the weeks to come!

ALL PACKED UP AND READY TO GO!

Well...all 101 artworks selected for this year's 2014 Student Art Showcase are boxed up, packed up and ready to go!  The show should be a lot of fun, and I certainly hope to see many of you there.  Just as a reminder, this year's Showcase will take place this Saturday, April 19th from 11-3pm at the Houston House located at 264 West 5th Street.  Should be a fun time, showcasing the amazing artistic talent of some wonderful Creekview fifth and sixth graders!

TWO MORE FOR THE COLLECTION

Two more ceiling tiles are officially drawn, painted, signed and back in the ceiling!  Still six more to go...and boy do I hope they finish by the end of the year.  :)  

ALL-OHIO BALLOON FEST ART CONTEST

I'd like to officially announce the "All-Ohio Balloon Fest Art Contest" in which one grand prize student will win an iPad.  Please print out the registration form, and have your student draw a 10x10 drawing following the guidelines for a chance to win.  As always...please e-mail me with any questions!

SUMMER ART CAMP!

 

I am currently taking registrations for my 12th annual Summer Art Camps that I hold each summer at the Houston House!  The camps are a lot of fun (if I do say so myself) and I certainly enjoy spending a little of my summer sharing my love of art with students of all grades through my camps.  Please take a minute to look over the information for this year's art camps, and if you have any questions please let me know!  Or if you'd like to receive a direct e-mail with the forms attached, again please just e-mail me and I will get those to you as quick as an e-mail will carry it to you.

Attention 5th Grade Purple and Blue teams!!!  Your student should have brought home their Art to Remember envelopes, custom made just for them.  Please take a second to look over the fantastic items you can purchase with your child's art on it.  If you wish to place an order, simply fill out the envelope and return it with your payment to me by WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9th!!!  I cannot take any orders past this date.  If you don't wish to participate in this visual arts fundraiser, simply throw the envelope away.  And...as always...if you have any questions, please e-mail me at your convenience.  drweller@marysville.k12.oh.us

I'd like to officially announce the first annual Creekview Intermediate Student Art Showcase!!!  This showcase of student art will be displayed at the Houston House, Marysville's Visual Arts Center, from 11-3 on Saturday, April 19th.  Student work will be selected over the course of the first week of April, and you will be notified if your student's work has been selected.  I'll have more info to come this Friday...and then along the way up until the show date.  Oh...and just in case you're wondering...there will still be a Creekview Art Show, showcasing artwork from ALL the students of Creekview.  But that's not until May.  SO...I wanted to get information about this show out to you first!
